Tropical Aqua-Alkal pH Plus water treatment is a preparation for raising the pH level in freshwater aquariums. Alkaline water is characteristic of many biotopes inhabited by popular aquarium fish, such as Malawi cichlids (mbuna group), Tropheus from Lake Tanganyika, and cichlids from Central America. Maintaining a high pH level is essential for the well-being of many fish species, as it promotes good health, enhances coloration, and supports spawning. Tropical Aqua-Alkal pH plus prevents pH fluctuations resulting from natural processes occurring in the tank.
When applying directly to the aquarium, monitor pH levels using a suitable aquarium test kit. Daily pH changes should not exceed 0.2 pH. The safest approach is to prepare water outside the tank before gradually adding it to the aquarium.
